Professional Terms & Code of Conduct
Last updated: May 2026
1. Eligibility and Account Use
By registering as a Professional on Benmort Connect, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter binding agreements. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
2. Service Standards
Professionals on Benmort Connect commit to delivering services with reasonable skill, care, and diligence. You will: respond to client invitations and proposals in a timely manner, deliver work that meets the scope and quality agreed in each contract, communicate proactively with clients about progress, delays, or issues, respect deadlines and milestone commitments, and decline engagements outside your verified expertise. Repeated quality issues, missed deadlines without notice, or unprofessional conduct may result in account suspension.
3. Verification and Regulated Categories
Professionals seeking the Basic verification tier must submit a government-issued ID and complete a selfie liveness check. The Professional tier additionally requires professional credentials and two work references. The Enterprise tier additionally requires a business registration document and tax compliance certificate where applicable. Regulated sub-roles — including clinical healthcare, practising legal, and financial audit/tax — require the Professional or Enterprise tier and will only be activated on your public profile after verification documents are reviewed and approved by Benmort Connect's Verification Admin team.
4. Communication Standards
All communication with clients on the Platform must remain respectful, professional, and free of discriminatory, harassing, or threatening language. You will not solicit clients to engage with you outside the Platform to avoid Platform fees ("off-platform circumvention"), share confidential client information with third parties, send unsolicited marketing messages through Platform messaging, or use Platform messaging for purposes unrelated to active engagements. Off-platform circumvention may result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of pending earnings.
5. Payment and Fees
Payment terms are governed by the Benmort Connect Terms of Service. Professional earnings are subject to a service fee of 10–15% applied to your earnings, with the exact rate depending on engagement type and subscription tier. Earnings are released from escrow per milestone approval in Phase B; Phase A engagements track milestone status but escrow funding is deferred. You are responsible for any taxes, social security contributions, or other levies arising from earnings received through the Platform.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of intellectual property you create independently. Work product created under a client engagement is governed by the terms of that engagement's contract, including any IP assignment provisions agreed with the client. You grant Benmort Connect a limited licence to display your profile content (portfolio, bio, skills, headline) for the purpose of operating the marketplace.
7. Data Protection and Privacy
You will handle client information with care and only use it for the purposes of the engagement you've been hired for. You will not share, sell, or use client data for any purpose outside the engagement. For regulated categories involving sensitive data (healthcare records, financial documents, legal matters), you must comply with all applicable data protection laws and sector-specific confidentiality obligations.
8. Suspension and Termination
Benmort Connect reserves the right to suspend or terminate Professional accounts for: violations of these Terms or the Code of Conduct, fraudulent activity, identity misrepresentation, off-platform circumvention, repeated client complaints with merit, failure to maintain verification credentials, or non-compliance with regulatory requirements for regulated categories. You may request account closure at any time, subject to resolving any active contracts. On account closure, your public profile is removed; transaction history is retained per our Data Retention Policy.
9. Code of Conduct
Beyond the contractual commitments above, every Professional on Benmort Connect agrees to: treat all clients and platform staff with respect and courtesy regardless of background, project size, or compensation level; declare conflicts of interest before accepting engagements; refuse work that requires illegal, unethical, or fraudulent action; maintain confidentiality of all client information accessed during engagements; contribute constructively to the platform community; and report violations of these standards observed in other Professionals or clients to Benmort Connect's compliance team.
10. Updates to These Terms
We may update these Professional Terms & Code of Conduct from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active Professionals at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of your Professional account after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The current version is always available at this URL.
